Hi everyone, I’m Phil and I currently work with Global Oncology, Inc. (“GO”), a non-profit that improves access to cancer care in resource-limited settings. Previously, I worked for several years with the non-profit Partners In Health (PIH) and often collaborated with the Medical Informatics team that was using OpenMRS to build out EMR systems at several of PIH’s sites in Latin America and Africa. I’m currently involved with a program to integrate “patient navigators” into a cancer treatment program in Belize. It’s still in its early stages, but we’re looking to eventually develop an online, cloud-based patient-tracking EMR platform that allows doctors, nurses, and patient navigators to track the progress of individual cancer patients along their care continuum to reduce delays in diagnosis and treatment. I imagine that the role of the patient navigator will be similar to that of a community health worker, in that he/she will be deployed to track down patients who have missed appointments to ensure adherence. The main difference is that they will be intimately familiar with the complexities of the cancer care continuum, from initial presentation to diagnosis, treatment initiation and post-treatment follow-up.
I’m curious to hear about resources and tools that might help us develop this platform. Looking forward to connecting with some of you!

Hi everyone,
I’m Eric Senyonga, Software Developer from Uganda. I have worked on multiple software projects and I am hoping to be even more valuable here. Pleasure to be with you.
My name is Dr. Sunil Nihalani and I have over 12 years of experience working with electronic health records (EHRs). I observed how EHRs are being under-utilized in clinical practice. My vision is an evidence-based clinical decision support system that can read the specific data about patients in the EHR and can offer relevant clinical advice about their unique conditions.
Thanks brother for a warm welcome. I have loved the organization so far, the community is welcoming and a nice one to stay in. May God bless the work of your Hands.
