Welcome! Please introduce yourself

Hi everyone, I’m going to paste my response from the Google Code-In Meet and Greet too

I’m Mira from the USA! I’m a Junior in High School (16 years old), and I was introduced to Google Code-in by a teacher. I have never participated before. I just started learning code this year and think this is a great opportunity for me to advance my technological skills while applying it to the medical field. I love that OpenMRS provides a medical record system to developing countries! I have experience manually filing medical records and know how tedious it is; a computer-based system is much more organized and reliable.

My interests include volunteering (especially in health related areas), playing the piano and viola, baking/cooking, and scientific research.

It’s really cool that everyone is from different countries around the world

Hey guys!

My name’s Yusuf Karim and I’m currently a junior (16 yrs. old) in the U.S. Some things about me: I’ve loved technology ever since I was 4 (would always tinker around on the home computer). Some interests of mine include robotics, programming (probably my favorite hobby), and biology. It’s my first time participating in Google Code In and I’m very eager to start and meet new people along the way. OpenMRS to me seems like the perfect way to delve into open source programming : doing something that not only helps me improve my skills but also helps many people worldwide.

Hello,

my name is Florian and I’m currently working on my Master’s degree in computer science on the Berlin Institute of Technology. I realized I wanted to get some of my skills in Java development up to date again before looking for a job next year, so I browsed the web for interesting open source application and ended up here. I’ve always wanted to see and know how I could put my CS knowledge to use to make the world just a tiny bit better. OpenMRS sounds like just the thing, and I’m looking forward to getting to work on my first issue, whatever that may be. I hope I will learn and be of use to the community and the people that depend on OpenMRS.

Kind regards to everyone :)!

Hey all,

I’m Collins Nji from Cameroon. I’m currently in my final year in High School and I study Computer Science as a major.

I’m passionate about Open-Source development and in my free time, I create applications that are aimed at helping students manage their school work and schedules (I haven’t published any yet  but I will pretty soon)

When I’m not sitting in-front of a monitor and keyboard, I go out to take photographs of nature and play with my cats. There’s a bunch of other things about me that will be too much for me to write here, so to know more visit my website Collin Grimm.

Hello Everyone!

So nice to meet you all and very excited to be part of this amazing community.

Am Catherine Kabahuma, an IT professional currently pursuing a Master of Health Informatics at Makerere University School of Public Health in Uganda.

I have always been passionate about health equity and I think OpenMRS is one of the tools that will help us accomplish exactly that and other greater things in the future of Health and IT. I am new to OpenMRS and not much of a programmer but I hope to impact communities the world-over with whatever contribution I can make to OpenMRS as my strengths lie in implementation and technical support. Otherwise I will be very happy to interact with a mentor as am so looking forward to being an OpenMRS expert

We can all use your first hand observations issues faced by the people to create a better system!

Hi! My name is Shivani, and I am really passionate about learning new things. I enjoy reading, cooking, and coding. I am currently learning new languages and can’t wait to be fully experienced! I believe that is it incredibly important to give back to our community, and that is one of the main reasons why I have put in over 350+ volunteer hours. I have reintroduced and started a DECA chapter and am leading a shoe drive to help the Soles4Souls organization!

Thanks for reading, Shivani
