Avinash Mendrani | Aspiring Contributor to OpenMRS

Hello OpenMRS Community,

My name is Avinash Mendrani, a Third-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

I have a strong interest in building technology that creates real-world impact, especially in domains like healthcare where innovation can directly improve lives. I’ve been following the mission and work of OpenMRS, and I deeply admire the community’s commitment to building open-source solutions that support health systems around the globe.

My technical background includes working with:

  • Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs for backend development
  • ReactJS, Next.js, and TypeScript on the frontend
  • Databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Firebase
  • I’m also exploring areas in AI/ML and cloud-based infrastructure

I’m currently involved with various technical communities, including Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors, GDSC, and GeeksforGeeks. These experiences have shaped my collaborative mindset and enhanced my ability to contribute meaningfully to large-scale, community-driven projects.

Through this forum, I hope to connect with experienced contributors, gain a deeper understanding of the OpenMRS ecosystem, and begin contributing to ongoing development efforts. In the long term, I aim to prepare a strong and thoughtful proposal for Google Summer of Code 2026, aligned with OpenMRS’s mission and current project needs.

I look forward to learning from all of you and contributing to something that has a genuine global impact.

Warm regards, Avinash Mendrani GitHub: github.com/aavi4012-cmd LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/mendrani-avinash-3b8b23242
