Hey all, my name is Saketh Machiraju, I’m from Mountain House, California. I am currently a Sophomore in High School looking to broaden my programming skills while also making a difference in the world. I am quite excited to be a part of something this big.

Other facts about me are that I play the guitar for 6+ years now, I’ve been programming since 7th grade, and I love to swim, run and bike [which I will resume after my ACL heals]. And love helping anyone in any way possible.

Hello! I’m Jackson, a product manager from the midwestern United States. I work for a large online DIY tax preparation website based out of Dallas, TX. I’m very impressed by the OpenMRS mission and the impact that you all have globally, and I can’t wait to help in any way that I can!

I am very passionate about creating products that make people’s lives easier, but outside of work, I also enjoy playing volleyball, traveling, and trying new foods!

Hello Community members! I am Lakshay, a sophomore pursuing my undergraduate in Computer Sciences. I love exploring the field of web development. My Brain is asynchronously processing my requests while my heart is stuck on media queries to decide whether to respond or not :stuck_out_tongue: . Apart from that I enjoy working with JavaScript, React and Node.js. I am currently learning MongoDB to move down the path of Full Stack Development.

I am very excited to know more about the community and become a small part of this vast sea of very talented people. I had a silly doubt, if a clinic in Kenya intended to use one of a customized distribution of openMRS, will they have to hire their own set of developers to make the required changes or they can request these changes from the community and the project is handled by you all.

Thank you. looking forward to know more about you all :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks – I’ve been looking at the vision for the new front-end. It’s a very clever architecture.

I’m still reading through the website / wiki / docs etc to get to know the project better.

Hello all! I am Achintya Bhat, a 2nd year ungraduate student of CS at VJTI Mumbai. I came to know about OpenMRS 3 months back while I was browsing through the organisations of previous GSoCs. I liked this project as I had always felt that software developers could contribute more to the health sector and especially now after the covid pandemic. I liked this project especially because of its developer community. They have written a good guide for new developers to join this project and to open-source community in general.

I know C/C++, Java and Python. I have tried web and app development as well and do know linux networking too. Can anyone tell me how I can contact the mentors? Also, I am not able to join the IIRC channel.

Very interesting caption.

I tried to get there but I think I need someone to lead me on how to get involved, which teams do I get on, what requirements of coding do I need and so much more. That’s why I asked.

If you could help tell me what languages I need to work with Openmrs, I would appreciate it. Thanks for reaching out
