my name is Rennish Achieng Mboya. I am a Kenyan. This is my first time on OpenMRS and i am interested in learning the system and finally being one of the developers. I am more inclined towards Java and PhP. Currently learning python for the first time.

  1. I was fascinated by the goal of OpenMRS to provide health care delivery by utilizing open source software. What I found most intriguing about OpenMRS and Google Code-in is their community driven nature and the fact that they provide users from all across the world, from various fields, with the opportunity to innovate and contribute towards solving real world problems.
  2. No, I have not participated in Google Code-in in the past but I am looking forward to it.
  3. I hope to complete as many tasks to the best of my ability as I can for OpenMRS, receive feedback and connect with like minded people along the way.

1.Google code-in helps beginners like me who want to gain footing in the world of coding and further expand their knowledge and skills.The program provides the advantage to get peer to peer mentorship to each and every applicant which is really helpful to get started with the open source contributions.

  1. No I did not participate in Google Code-in during the previous years. This is my first time for contributing to google code-in.

  2. The technology used by OpenMRS is of great importance in various fields of technology, health care, and international development. I expect to be a part of the such a great community to learn, share and grow.

  • I loved the fact about OpenMRS that the organization is willing to use our talents to battle against the diseases in developing countries and Google Code-in is encouraging the youth to learn coding.

  • This is my first year participating in Google Code-in

  • I expect to learn a lot from OpenMRS by doing most of tasks it offers and develop my skill set.

  1. Google Code-in piques my interest into how open source development takes place in todayā€™s ever-connected world and OpenMRS was the first organization that caught my eye with itā€™s focus on medical technology through itā€™s tagline ā€œWrite Code, Save Livesā€.

  2. This is my first and last year that Iā€™ll be participating in GCI. Looking forward for an unique learning experience outside the classroom.

  3. I look forward to meet new people, learn more about how OpenMRS works and itā€™s cause and contribute as much as I can
