Welcoming the OpenMRS FHIR Squad!

Dear Community,

Back in June, a conversation went wild on Slack about OpenMRS and FHIR. Since then, @pmanko has done a few OpenMRS University sessions on FHIR. We’ve reached a point where enough people are interested that we can get a squad together.

We hope that all community members who expressed interest in moving forward with the FHIR standard in OpenMRS will join a kick-off meeting.

Specific questions we would like to address in the kickoff meeting are:

  • What are our objectives to work together?
  • How are we going to operate?
  • What use cases are we addressing?
  • What is the current state of efforts with OpenMRS FHIR?

Possible times for a kickoff and weekly meetings include Wednesdays at 6pm Nairobi | 3pm UTC | 11am EDT | 8am PDT or Thursdays at 5pm Nairobi | 2pm UTC | 10am EDT | 7am PDT. All interested, please weigh in on what time would work best through this Doodle poll.

  • @jdick will make an itemized list of issues/tasks for the current module and share it with the team

  • @bistenes will post the link about RFCs to the slack channel

  • @pmanko will take a deeper look at the technical architecture of the current module and bring a review to the next meeting (he will try to work with @jdick on this)
