I am the co-administrator for Google Summer of Code within the Julia Programming Language and also the leader for the JuliaHealth Organization! I had a wonderful conversation with Grace and Jan about how the JuliaHealth community could support research efforts around the OpenMRS community as well as exploring how the OMOP CDM (housed within the OHDSI community) could be useful alongside OpenMRS.

I’m Ashik, a developer from India. I graduated in 2022 and have since worked for a year and a half at a top MNC. Currently, I’m focusing on enhancing my skills in full-stack development and learning UI design. I came across OpenMRS through GSoC and found it really intriguing after exploring the official site and chatting with a few experienced contributors.
I have experience in frontend development, particularly with JavaScript and React.js, along with a basic foundational understanding in backend technologies such as Node.js and MySQL. I also have a strong grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms.
I’m excited to showcase my skills by contributing to various functionalities, learning new things, and gaining exposure that will help me build my resume and target even bigger opportunities in the future which includes healthcare companies as well.
