Hi everyone, I am Osagie Ehigiato, a software developer. I came across OpenMRS when I was searching for an opensource I could use for a health system I was developing. I loved it! I have developed a few custom openmrs modules, and i’m enthsiastic about contributing my quota to the community.
Hi I am Kouetchua Carlson from the University of Buea-Cameroon. I am 3rd year student specializing in Software Engineering. I have experience in C/C++, Python and Java. I would love to OpenMRS both as an open source organisation and in preparation to GSOC 2016
@dinesh welcome to the community
Hello everyone!
I’m new here! and I faced a few problems in the begging, Hope, You can help me to solve it.
I have seen book for developers, but there is no info about teams. Can I join every team which I want? I mean the team which is obligated to improving a project.
I’m studing computer science and also working as a Java developer in one of the biggest finnish company. The reason why I’m here is that I want to improve something for free and also participate a knowledge with others. I prefer working on high level of abstraction, solving problems and writing fast algorithms! Since few months I also started improving my skills in machine learning. So in these cases I can be useful, and I’m looking for a person which can help me a right project for me.
Regards bartek
Hi I’m Jeremy. I’m an Implementor, learning the ropes and looking forward to having lots of fun.

Hi all,
I am Thisura Philips, a second year student from SLIIT (Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology). I am very curious about open source development and willing to get more experience while studying. At the same time I am so curious about finding a way to computerize the information to provide more quality facility to people. Also hope to become a committer in openmrs oneday. Hope this will be my proud first open source committership.
Thanks. Thisura Philips thisura on IRC ThisuraThejith on github

Hello, I am Fomotio Egoko Elvine Lea, from Cameroon, studying Computer engineering and I wan to contribute to OpenMrs in preparation for Gsoc 2015
Hello, I’m Rob Cardy, from Kingston, Canada. I’m studying computer science, and want to learn OpenMRS, possibly to implement it in a couple clinics in Tanzania! I’ll probably be asking lots of questions while I start learning OpenMRS, and I appreciate anyone taking the time to help me out. Cheers!
Hi everyone! My name is Vimig Socrates and I’m studying computer science at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH USA. I’m very interested in software applications of healthcare, as both an emergency medical technician and budding software developer!
I have been looking for an open source community that I could really be invested in, and I think I’ve found it in OpenMRS. I can’t wait to contribute as much as I can in the near future, as well as learn a lot about software development in the healthcare setting. Looking forward to helping and growing in any way that I can!
Hi ,everyone.
My name is Kshitij and I am a budding web designer.I would be really glad if someone could guide me how can I contribute to openmrs community as a web designer.
Hi there!I’m Shreyans. I’m currently a Computer Science Undergraduate at VIT University, Chennai, India.
Oh, and I Code. A lot
Why Open-Source and Why OpenMRS:
In Nov '15, I was one of the Finalists in a Nation Wide Hackathon, organized by IBM called the IBM-RTBI Innovation Drive for Impact where I developed an application called ‘Aurum’ for Improving Rural Healthcare in India.
My team and I came across a lot of obstacles, the primary one being data-analysis and how we could extract relevant data for a patient and present it to a doctor, after the details are entered. We felt the need for a large and well organized data-base on which we could help base our prediction algorithms.
The process of making this application changed me and I started looking for ways to help and contribute to medical healthcare. This is where I came across OpenMRS. I could connect to their mission and goal almost instantly and felt and instant urge to take their mission forward by contributing in any way I can.
My Background:
I’ve been programming for over 5 years and primarily code in JAVA and am particularly skilled at OOPS and Collections, with my primary expertise being Data-Structures and Algorithms.
I’ve done a few projects which involve Android Dev (Aurum), GUI based applications involving integration of MYSQL with JAVA, Qt framework and the like. (Have a look at my GitHub repo for more details).
My best achievements till dates would be being ranked 86th Worldwide in the CodeChef September Algorithmic Challenge (out of 4.5k contests) and qualifying for the finals of the IBM-RTBI Hackathon where there were teams and start-ups competing for a spot in the finals. They’re pretty modest but they inspire and motivate me to do better everyday
Profiles: GitHub, StackOverflow (top 2% this month, Top tag: JAVA), CodeChef. (World top 1000)

Hi, I’m Syed, currently a high-school student. I sort of came to / stumbled upon OpenMRS through GCI. But now I’m deciding to become a somewhat consistent member of the community (school comes first at this point, unfortunately).
Aside from school, I own a startup (with my BFF who is doing GCI with Drupal), which creates our own products, from student housing to eSports gambling, don’t ask about the social media platform . My programming experience pretty alright i think for my age… I mainly program in java, and the hardest thing, to me, which i have done is create code for a robot (FRC). There are other languages I know, but Java is my favorite.
Some hobbies that I do:
Hacking <----- I can’t officially call it a job
programming <---- same with this
building things, yea I know, it’s vague, but I legitimately sit down and think about stuff, then make it, that’s life
Gaming also falls underneath this, along with making uncensored youtube video’s which are insanely idiotic, but are funny if you look at them the right way.
That’s just about it , hopefully I can become a bigger part of this community.
@syedahmed That is some resume you have there, in high school and already a startup. In high school i was still coding hello world . Welcome to the community.
Hello Everybody!
Happy new 2016 (in advance) good luck to all.
My name is Ilian Mihaylov I am founder of several software development companies in Bulgaria. We are doing complex solutions in several modern areas as Machine learning, Big Data integration and etc.
We decided to enter Healthcare area and we selected OpenMRS as platform.
We have a client in Bulgaria where we will implement a solution based on OpenMRS.
We will be active contributors to OpenMRS community and I will lead to whole effort and will represent our group. Here is more information about me:
I am 47 and I wrote my first commercial program at age of 14. Have experience in 25 programming languages and many platforms including mainframe, VMS, nix, WINTEL and etc. At the moment I love SCALA and other functional languages but JAVA is ok. . 4 years ago I was at IBM playing role of Lead Architect (35 countries ) for CEE and Turkey and Russia leading two service lines for ITS. I was 8 years at IBM. I decided to leave IBM and build a new company to provide same services but for the 1/3rd of the price
.
My current strategic goal is to turn our company as worldwide example of center of excellence in area of Ecology. (I studied biotechnology). Our first step toward this goal is health and life style as we believe that first thing we need to change is our attitude to the food and natural resources exhausted just to produce unhealthy food which makes people sick. Our contribution to OpenMRS as we see it now will be.
We will translate OpenMRS in Bulgarian.
We will add several concepts related to lifestyle and nutritional regimes.
We will implement a end-2-end process which includes programs - orders - observations.
We will create several forms - for specific medical procedures
We will add some parts to clients dashboard
We will implement new type of appointment as the current ones are not enough for our client.
And many other.
Best Regards to all Ilian Mihaylov https://www.reactiv-cloud.com
