Welcome! Please introduce yourself

I really like your seal of welcoming newcomes. Just to let you know , GSoC 2020: Warm up practices for students link is only for those interested in participating in GSoC. Those interested in normal openmrs contribution you can share this link https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/docs/Getting+Started+as+a+Developer.

Thank you. I’ll start right away.

Hello , I am Shobhit Goswami from India , 3rd year B.tech student in Information Technology. I am eager to contribute to OpenMRS organizations but do not have any ideas or donot know the way the open sourse works . This is my first time of being on such a platform. I just need a guidance in order to procedure and learn the way of contribution to the open source communities.

Hello everyone,

I’m Yash Kothari, currently in my final year pursuing bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from UVCE, Bengaluru.

I first came across OpenMRS when my uncle, an oncologist at K R Hospital, Mysore, needed some help setting up OpenMRS application (as a client-server system) for his department to better manage the patient records. It feels great to know that now most of the records are managed digitally and can make use of the benefits of such a system!

I want to contribute to OpenMRS by working on one of the proposed projects for GSoC this summer, looking forward to interacting with the community and better understanding OpenMRS.

Cheers!

Yash Kothari
