PAT 6-Sep-2017: Open Source Development Process (continued)

The next Product Architecture Team call is Wednesday 6-Sep-2017.

We will continuing the discussion from 4 weeks ago on the shared development process that we’re moving towards.

Background document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w1aEB5i0XuqNfREi2GTVDMUbmegigER_z1JA9_OaMCo/edit

We will also look at some questions raised by @sudipkoirala after the prior round of discussion:

  1. Who will undertake the role of prioritizing ideas or backlog items?
  2. How will a “Release Manager” coordinate with community members(developers) to ensure features planned for a 1.5 month release cycle? Assuming there will be open source contributors from outside too along with dedicated coders from Coalition organizations.
  3. How will the PAT team and Technical sub-groups co-ordinate for a release cycle?
  4. What will be the process for a developer from (organization X) to contribute to Bahmni? When is he/she expected to start?

Who

PAT calls are open to anyone who wants to engage with Bahmni in a product/technical leadership capacity. For this particular call we really hope to also see people like @mksd, @mksrom, @mogoodrich, @mseaton, and @davidoh who have submitted pull requests recently, and been engaging as FOSS devs.
