I’ve been going through past discussions on the OpenMRS Performance Testing project and wanted to contribute by expanding the personas we’re testing. Right now, we have Doctor and Clerk personas, but I think adding a Nurse would make our tests much more realistic.
As mentioned in the GSoC 2025 idea page for the Performance Testing Enhancement Project, adding more real-world personas is a key goal. Nurses play a crucial role in patient care and interact with the system in many ways. Some key workflows for this persona could include:
- Administering medications – Recording drugs given and dosages.
- Recording vitals and observations – Entering patient health data.
- Handling patient admissions and transfers – Managing patient movements within departments.
- Ordering lab tests and reviewing results – Managing test requests.
- Patient follow-ups – Updating progress notes and care plans.
I’m currently working on integrating this persona into the performance testing framework and would love to hear your thoughts! Are there any other workflows we should include? Looking forward to your feedback.
