Which terminology dictionary to use on CHT - OpenMRS interoperability for ANC and PNC workflows?

We are working on interoperability between the CHT and OpenMRS with ANC (antenatal care) and PNC (postnatal care) as the workflows to be implemented in Nepal. This will be based on the FHIR standards leveraging the CHT interoperability reference application that had the Loss to Follow Up workflow as the POC. The 2 systems will exchange data based on 15 indicators bidirectionally across the 2 systems based on a standard ANC/PNC form. We are exploring adopting concept dictionaries for this project such as CIEL, SNOMED or a concept dictionary widely adopted in Nepal for scalability purposes. Has this been done before, which dictionary was adopted across the 2 systems?

@akanter this is the topic that has been inititated by Philip from Medic, Lets engage further here. @gaarimaa @santosh @parajuli_kumod

@philanjoroge as aligned we will be using the CIEL and i have briefly aligned with @akanter over this. @santosh @gaarimaa

Happy to engage here. Sorry I didn’t pickup on this topic earlier… OCL is working on some white papers describing the value of using an interface terminology like CIEL to get to the reference terms/codes such as ICD, SNOMED, LOINC, etc. CIEL is now a digital public good (DPG) and is open source. I am interested in the ANC/PNC concepts that are needed for Nepal and CHT and you should be able to find most of them already in CIEL. If not, we will make sure they are there.
