Which platform and tools do the majority of backend developers use?

I’m in the process of setting up a development environment for the backend. I have a few questions.

  • My primary machine is Linux Mint, but I also have a Windows 11 box. Does anyone know if there are more developers on Linux or Windows? I’d like to work on the platform that the majority of devs are using.

  • I’m in the process of getting IntelliJ up and running on Linux. Do backend devs tend to use IntelliJ or Eclipse? If more devs are using Eclipse, I’ll switch.

  • I would eventually like to update that Atlassian page with my additional documentation. Once I have access to the wiki, what is the process for reviewing my proposed changes?

Yes we have more developers on Linux than Windows. But windows is also fully supported.

Some even use Visual Studio Code. But the majority of the backed devs use IntelliJ

Just update and save. We get notifications for all edits.
