Hey guys! I’m here with Google Code-In 2017 but I like this community and its motto of “write code, save lives” and plan to stick around after the code-in, so I figured I should introduce myself here as well!
I’m a junior in high school, but I’ve been programming for about 6 years now. I taught myself to program from the internet and programming books for the first four years and have been learning in programming classes in my high school for about two years now.
I am currently on an FRC robotics team as one of the lead programmers. (The competition is coming up in February, so that will keep me really busy for the second half of January and most of February.) This is my first year of being on that team.
I program primarily for Android, so I have lots of experience with Java. I have an app on the Google Play Store with quite a few downloads (over 33000) I am also a web developer. I typically work with front-end development, but I have a little bit of experience with back-end development as well (nodejs mostly).
I participated in GCI 2016 with another organization. I didn’t have much time to devote to it last year, but this year I plan on doing a whole lot more with Google Code-in.
Beyond programming, I love astronomy, reading, math, science, and watching movies. I am learning Japanese in school, and would love to go to Japan one day.
I’m super excited to be involved with this community, just be aware that school is my first priority, so I may not always be able to do things immediately, but I’ll do my best to help out this amazing community!
