Hi I am Isuru Gimhana. I am a 2nd year software Engineering student at IIt. I am eager to contribute to open source projects and earn experience.
Hey everyone! I’m Adelie. By day I work in healthcare using an electronic medical record and by night I am teaching myself software development and UX/UI design. I am excited to collaborate on this project!
nice to have you here @isurukad
Hello everyone, My name is Sharai Chikwenhere, from Zimbabwe, you can all me Ziva!! I’m so excited to be part of OpenMRS, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot and assist where I can. I am into Health Service Administration; I was working for a district hospital in my country for the past 4 years. I will be starting my masters next year, and being a part of this group, I want to believe it’s going help me with knowledge exchange, networking, how to enhance professional development and keep me updated on health industry trends and best practices. Thank you,
I’m Vinayak Vishwanath Gaikwad, a 1st Year student pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Nanded, Maharashtra, India.
Currently studying in 1st semester.
I have looked into the previous channels as you asked me to do. What do you think I should do next?
Hey, Let me know your preferences like where are you interested the most. Frontend or backend. You can name some technologies you have started already or the one you want to grow with.
Hello sejal. The best way to get started is to read through the messages in this thread and also read through the docs of the project you are interested. Feel free to post your worry or any blockers here.
What is the error you are getting when you try to login?
Hi everyone, I’m Chris Dare, a recent grad from Carnegie Mellon interested in increasing access to healthcare in Africa. When COVID hit, I had an introduction to digital healthcare through some projects in Ghana and found it to be extremely exciting.
I recently came across OpenMRS and consider it to be a really good solution for hospitals and small clinics. The community here looks amazing. I think I will learn a lot and make some social impact by being active here.
My growing skillsets lie in software engineering, product management and a little bit of machine learning. Concerning software engineering, I’m comfortable working on the backend (packages and REST APIs) with python frameworks. I’m also open to working with Java frameworks as well. On machine learning, I’ve built predictive analytics models with PyTorch and Sklearn - as well curating, analyzing and preprocessing datasets.
I’d love to:
- Learn how to implement OpenMRS for a clinic
- Help improve the core platform
- Learn how to design/build apps that stand stand on top of the OpenMRS to help users/clinics achieve more.
I have also checked out the demo version of OpenMRS v3 and would like to set up a running copy on my laptop to take it for a spin. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to set up as well as continuing my journey in this community?
I am Sagnik Mandal, I’m a student at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, and I’d like to contribute in OpenMRS.
Hi folks, I came across really good documentation from the awesome wiki to help me get started with setting up a copy of core platform: Get Started as a Developer - Documentation - OpenMRS Wiki.
I’ve also added the backend development meetings to my calendar and looking forward to joining my first meeting!
Dear OpenMRS Community,
I am genuinely enthusiastic about leveraging my skills and knowledge to contribute to the OpenMRS community. However, as I am new to this environment, I would greatly appreciate guidance and assistance in understanding how to get started. It would be wonderful if someone could provide me with insights and directions on how best to contribute effectively.
The prospect of collaborating with like-minded individuals to make a meaningful impact in the realm of medical record systems is both exciting and motivating to me. I am eager to engage with the OpenMRS community, learn from its members, and contribute my expertise to this incredible initiative.
Looking forward to guidance and collaboration,
Greetings! I’m Raymond Oluoch, a Nairobi-based Software Developer with a strong passion for innovative solutions. I aspire to contribute to cutting-edge projects like OpenMRS. hello folks, happy to see you join the community. I urge you all to read through the chanel messages and seek for help where neccessary.
Hello everyone, My name is Rahul, a software engineer specializing in backend development. I’m excited to join OMRS and looking for ways to contribute.
Hi, I am Areeb Niyas. A final year computer science student from Informatics Institute of Technology in Sri Lanka.
Having recently contributing to Hacktoberfest and the opensource community, I would like to keep contributing more and provide a helping hand in the best of my ability. Hope to help out in any sort of way and get involved in the OpenMRS community. Apart from coding, I play semi-professional football in my country.
