Welcome to all the newcomers. Glad to see you here
Greetings to you all,
I’m Proud Sachinda a Computer Science graduate and Information Systems final year student at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. During my free time, I work for Wits Biomedical Informatics and Translational Sciences as an intern. We currently have three systems that we support in order to help our clients and other people in the research or health sector. These systems are namely REDCap by Vanderbilt University and ED(Electronic Discharge) our own system for electronic discharge summary system as well as DataDoc an advanced discharge summary system that stores patient files for multiple hospital sites around the area.
We have conducted research on OpenMRS and we discovered that it could be useful for us to replace one of our systems with OpenMRS. My own insights indicated that the workflow of OpenMRS is similar to our DataDoc system. After presenting my findings and assumptions I was then tasked to model one of DataDoc psychiatry sites on OpenMRS.
I have read the developer’s manuals about getting started on OpenMRS but I am not sure if it is the correct way for what I am trying to achieve. Would anyone please guide me on what steps do I have to follow. Do I have to create a module?
I am also new to the world of open source projects and I feel that this will be a great opportunity for me to prepare my career. I am so excited about the project!
Thank you
