Hi OpenMRS Community,
I’m Ray, a high school student. I wish to contribute to OpenMRS both as a part of the Google Code-In 2019 Contest (which begins in a few months) and for the public good.
I particularly enjoy Java, although a little bit of python and the web stack won’t hurt. Oh, and also problems. Whether it be maths, coding or others, I love solving them.
A few days ago I was scrolling through last year’s GCI organisations and noticed a few Java organisations that I could contribute to. Then I saw what OpenMRS did and I was like, “Heck yeah I get to code Java and help save lives? I’m in!”.
Even if in the unlikely circumstance that OpenMRS somehow didn’t apply or didn’t get accepted as a mentoring organisation this year, I still wish to contribute to the project. Why develop software when you can save lives and develop software?
Regards,
Ray
