HIV Case Based Surveillance (CBS) Project being implemented in Uganda by the Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Support (METS) Program, a collaboration between the Makerere University School of Public Health and University of California San Francisco.
Uganda joins Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania as the few African countries that are implementing this World Health Organisation (WHO) initiative recommended in 2016 as a means for better understanding the HIV epidemic while complimenting existing surveillance methodologies and practices.
