“Unable to comment or request assignment on O3 Jira issues (O3-4305, O3-4699)”

Hi OpenMRS team :waving_hand:

I am a new contributor working on OpenMRS O3 frontend and Jira issues.

I am trying to contribute to O3 tickets, for example:

  • O3-4305 (Refactor stock operations forms for ease of maintenance)
  • O3-4699 (Restored step-by-step form validation)

However, in my Jira UI I am not seeing any comment box to write a message on these issues. I only see History and Work log tabs, but no place to ask to be assigned or to request to work on the ticket.

Because of this, I am unable to request assignment or ask if the issue is available.

Could someone please help me understand:

  1. How can I request to work on an O3 Jira issue?
  2. Is there a permission or UI setting missing on my account?
  3. Where exactly should I post a message to ask for assignment?

@khushal123 Kindly look for the Assignee field on the ticket. If it’s editable (if you have access to jira/wiki), click Assign to Me. This automatically assigns the ticket for you.
