Am trying to run a servlet application within eclipse but the server throws an exception message. ‘Starting Tomcat v8.5 Server at localhost’ has encountered a problem.

could you try to put entire logs on paste bin here
use pastebin.com and paste the server error logs like @herbert24 has said.or you can share the screen shot of the page that brought error

share the whole server log errors please
After cleaning up the project and the directory, the tomcat as well the issue was resolved. Stopped the server and restarted it and then worked fine.
