If you’re new to OpenMRS (or even open source in general) and want to kickstart your journey, here’s a simple and beginner-friendly issue you can work on:

What’s the task? Our README still suggests running both the biometrics and vitals microfrontends. But the biometrics app is no longer a standalone microfrontend — so this is outdated. Your job will be to:

  • Remove references to esm-patient-biometrics-app in the README.
  • Keep the correct instructions for running the vitals app.
  • Optionally, update the example for running multiple apps together (e.g., vitals + another app).

Why is this a good first issue?

  • It’s small and self-contained.
  • You’ll get familiar with how OpenMRS frontend repos are structured.
  • It’s a quick way to make your first contribution and build confidence.
