Simplifying Imaging with Docker for OpenMRS 2.x and OpenMRS 3.x (Uclouvain ICTEAM/Medical informatics Lab)

Hello everyone,

I’m sharing the new OpenMRS-Imaging-Docker project, available on GitHub at GitHub - sadrezhao/openmrs-imaging-docker.

Key highlights:

  • The project includes Docker Compose files for OpenMRS 2.x and 3.x, making it easier to set up a complete imaging environment.
  • Provides all the configuration files and modules needed to run the Imaging module and Orthanc
  • The README provides instructions on how to configure Orthanc, including the JSON configuration, port settings, worklist script, and how to connect it to OpenMRS to get started quickly.

New from Orthanc The Orthanc team has released its Educational Plugin. This plugin provides learning tools and showcases Orthanc’s capabilities in teaching and demonstration contexts, making it an excellent addition to the Docker setup.

Give it a try: clone the repo, follow the instructions for either OpenMRS 2.x or 3.x, and see how the imaging module works in your environment. Report any issues or missing pieces in the GitHub repo so we can iterate and improve.

If you’re interested in deploying or demoing imaging functionality within OpenMRS, this project is a good starting point.

Regards, Wei
