Hello everyone,
My name is Yash and I am a 3rd year Computer Science student. I am interested in backend development and open source contribution, and I recently started exploring OpenMRS because I want to work on software that has real world impact rather than only academic projects.
My primary language is Java and I am comfortable with object oriented programming concepts. I have also built a modern web scraping project where I worked with data extraction and handling workflows, which got me interested in understanding larger production systems.
I am planning to participate in GSoC and would like to start contributing properly before proposals. I have begun setting up the OpenMRS development environment and want to understand the codebase step by step. I can consistently dedicate around 4 to 5 hours per week and increase it during the coding period.
I would appreciate guidance on good first issues and areas where new contributors can start learning the architecture effectively.
Looking forward to learning and contributing to the community. Thank you!
