Seeking advice on picking my first issue.

Hi everyone, I’m looking to start contributing and get my /dev/1 stage, but after checking the TRUNK dashboard, I noticed most issues already have assignees.

Should I only look for unassigned issues that are “Ready for Work”? And if I find one, where should I tell the maintainer that I want to work on it? Should I comment on the Jira ticket directly, or ask in the Slack #general channel? I want to make sure I follow the right process. Thanks for the help!

@danielgao1029 your welcome to openmrs

About the ticket, I f you read through the ticket requirements and you see you have the bandwidth..just simply assign it to your self and get to work

Anything you don’t understand about the ticket..you can ask in the chat of the Jira ticket
