I really can’t figure out what is happening but to me it seems like you are putting wrong password
 could you closely take a look at your mysql configurations.

What is the output of mvn -v ?

Kindly confirm the password to the root in the runtime property by following this path On Windows systems:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\OpenMRS
C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Application Data\OpenMRS

On Mac OS X or Linux systems:

~/YOURUSERNAME/.OpenMRS
/usr/share/tomcatX/.OpenMRS
