I’m excited to announce the dates for the upcoming 2024 OpenMRS Implementers’ Conference!
Mark your calendars: The conference will be held from September 9th to 13th, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya .
This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow OpenMRS implementers, share best practices, and learn about the latest developments in the platform.
We’ll be sharing more details about the conference program, registration, and venue in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, spread the word and save the date!
I added the banner to Talk. It’s linked to om.rs/24, which – for the moment – just redirects to this thread. I’m assuming we will soon have an official home page for the conference. Up through OMRS20, these were always wiki pages under this wiki page. Somewhere over the last few years, it’s been less predictable (e.g., om.rs/16 and om.rs/19 still work, but om.rs/21 and om.rs/22 go to a registration page and a broken page outside of the wiki).
The nice thing about using a wiki page as a home page for the conference is that it can evolve over time from announcement, to registration, to schedule, to permanent documentation of the event. It can, of course, always send people elsewhere for registration, sched.com or other live conference scheduling, etc.
FYI @christine@erica and anyone else involved in conference organizing: You’re more than welcome to change this wiki page, I just copied a template from the last conference in Kenya and added the info from this one
FYI @burke seems like the banner image became broken since we updated it on Friday.
Apologies if this has already been asked, but I just wanted to confirm that the hack-a-thon will start on Monday, Sept 9th (and not the weekend before)?
It’s a great image for something like the Wiki page or an announcement on the blog, but not as a header. Ideally we’d want an image somewhere between the current banner’s 20:3 aspect ratio and 3:1. (The current proposed image is 2:1).
