I think I’m on-board with this separate editing workspace proposal, although I don’t love all the caveats about forcing the user to use only one workspace at a time. Part of the reason for the design that allows a user to have multiple workspaces open is that we want the EMR to get out of the way of data entry rather than forcing specific data entry workflows, but for retrospectively edited data that is less of a concern.
I think one thing I want to stress is that while we may not need a full “RDE-mode” in the chart, it would be useful to have the ability to backdate orders and forms to prior visits, but I think we can leverage some of the idea here (e.g., the visit we’re concerned with can be a local property of the workspace) to make that feasible.
