Purpose of openmrs-module-webservices.rest-2

Hi all. I am currently preparing a pull request for the openmrs-module-webservices.rest repo. However, I see there is also an openmrs-module-webservices.rest-2 repo in GitHub.

What is the purpose of the rest-2 repo? It appears to be a stale fork of the rest repo, with no indication of why this fork has been created…?
