I am a Digital Transformation consultant based in Arusha, Tanzania, currently exploring OpenMRS implementation and support opportunities in the private health sector.
I am trying to identify private healthcare facilities (clinics, hospitals, health centres) anywhere in Tanzania that are currently using OpenMRS or have previously implemented it — independent of the government’s GoT-HoMIS rollout.
Specifically I would like to know:
- Are there any privately owned clinics or hospitals in Tanzania running OpenMRS?
- Which cities or regions are they based in (Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, etc.)?
- Which OpenMRS distribution are they using (Reference App, Bahmni, O3, custom)?
- Who implemented and currently supports their system?
I have already researched the GoT-HoMIS public sector deployments and the early 2008 HIV program sites (Tumbi, Ocean Road Cancer Institute, Morogoro Regional Hospital). I am specifically looking for private sector deployments.
Any leads, contacts, or direct experience from implementers working in Tanzania would be greatly appreciated.
