Pre-canned reports for the standard OpenMRS bundle

Hi everyone,

We’re documenting a set of pre-canned reports for inclusion in the standard OpenMRS bundle. The goal is to provide implementers and clinicians with ready-to-use, predefined views of patient and operational data, so that new and existing implementations have immediate, out-of-the-box access to the reports most commonly needed in real-world clinical and operational settings.

We’ve drafted an initial list based on input from some of the implementer community, but we’d love the wider community’s input.

Draft list of pre-canned reports — what we’ve heard so far:

All Patient List

  • All patients’ list (line list)

Program Enrollment & Longitudinal Care

  • Patients enrolled in a program (line list + counts)

Patient Flow

  • Newly registered patients in a period, by age/sex/location (line list + aggregate)
  • Patient visits/attendance workload (line list + aggregate)
  • Patients receiving different services (line list + aggregate)

Appointments

  • Patients Scheduled for Appointment (line list + aggregate)
  • Patients Who Have Missed Their Appointments (line list + aggregate)

Laboratory

  • Tests Ordered and Results by Period (line list)
  • Tests Done (aggregate)

Clinical Diagnosis

  • Top Diagnoses Report (aggregate)

Inpatient

  • Admissions and Discharges

Drug Dispensing

  • Drugs Dispensed (aggregate)

Vital Events

  • Deaths in a period, by age/sex and recorded cause (line list + aggregate)

More Detailed Draft work can be found on the wiki: OpenMRS Pre-Canned Reports Bundle (wiki)

Where we’d love your input:

  • Are there reports your implementation relies on that aren’t in this list (Excluding Program Specific)?
  • Are any of the listed reports defined in a way that would work for your context? If not, what are your suggestions?

Please share your thoughts here on Talk, or comment directly on the wiki page.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks @veronica !

Would include these also:

All Encounters

  • row for every encounter entered
  • no observations, just high level encounter info (patient info, encounter type, dates etc…)

Vital Signs:

  • row for every vitals encounter entered with column for each obs

Users tables:

  • users: all users in the system
  • user roles: all user/role mappings
  • user logins: row for each login into the system

Also for the Drug reporting already listed, Drug orders should be reported in addition to dispensing events
