I was so humbled and impressed by last week’s EMR4All+OpenMRS hackathon. There were meaningful contributions from all tracks. It was fun to have a speaker from the Raspberry Pi organization as well.
One key takeaway for me was that we need to better emphasize / mention / explain how OpenMRS can be hosted on a Raspberry Pi. I was telling @bennyange today that there are a few places I can think of where we could/should mention this, such as:
- Integration Catalog / Guide page: https://om.rs/integrate (we could add a “Hardware” section and mention Raspberry Pi with specific considerations and steps)
- Hardware & Software Requirements page: https://openmrs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/docs/pages/89817092 (like an info blurb about the option of hosting on a Pi)
- Other spots on the wiki or website? Anyone have ideas?
I’m wondering if @EMR4All folks like @tendomart could help write up a blurb we could put on those 2 pages, and whether you all might have additional ideas?
The world won’t know they can host OpenMRS on a Raspberry Pi unless we make it really obvious ![]()
