Hey @wikumc , @veronica , and @nethmi .
I am Abhay Singh Yadav, an active openmrs dev1 contributor and preparing for GSOC 2026. I am drafting a proposal for “Patient Visit Summary Printing”. During reading the docs about the project, I have got certain important questions about this. Though several question have already answered in this comment like the project is completely clinical facing and visit scoped rather than complete history of patient. Still I got some clarifying questions.
1. "Should the visit summary render as a downloadable PDF, or as a browser-printable HTML page using CSS print media queries? Or both?.
2. As the doc is saying, “Our technical plan is to use the same underlying technology that Joshua Nsereko has been working on for the print-label feature”. So can you please tell me “What is the current status of Joshua Nsereko’s print module? Is it merged and available as a dependency, or still in progress? Which repository is it in and what API does it expose?”
3. There’s a discrepancy between the GSoC ideas page (Java/Hibernate/Spring) and the Jira ticket (React frontend). Is this a fullstack project or primarily backend? Should the frontend print button and preview modal be included in the GSoC scope? (You can just answer this question in one word. That’s completely fine).
Thanks in advance for your time to answer my questions.
