Patient duplicated on the service queue, buttons not working

On my service queues, we see one patient listed multiple times. These are not merged patients. They were created using “Add Patient”. Am not sure if this created the service queue duplicate, or another button after? When I asked the staff that added the patient, she said she might have clicked the “Add Patient” button multiple times very very fast. I am not able to reproduce this issue.

This happened 3 times since we launched on February 7th, 2026 - around Feb 28, then March 29, then March 30.

Using the last patient this happened to as an example

The chart functions seem to work as expected.

Will appreciate guidance on removing this patient from the service queue.

This is the error being returned for all 4 patients from the queue when I try to do a “remove patient”

@lionadal how about you remove the patient manually throughout the dev tools. in the console

for example if in the browser tab this is the url “ /test3.openmrs.org/openmrs/spa/patient/e8917210-5c44-483b-93a1-ea9628b42bf4/chart/Patient%20Summary “

paste such a command with the patient uui (Bolded)

fetch(‘/openmrs/ws/rest/v1/queue-entry?patient=e8917210-5c44-483b-93a1-ea9628b42bf4’) .then(r => r.json()) .then(console.log)

This shall bring a Json like results: (3) […] (since patient are repeated 3 times)

clicking the arrow shall further open

uuid: “xxxx-xxxx-xxxx” status: “WAITING”

Those uuid values are the queue entries you can remove.

then you can remove with this command

fetch(‘/openmrs/ws/rest/v1/queue-entry/QUEUE_UUID’, { method: ‘DELETE’ }).then(r => r.text()).then(console.log)

i tried this on the test3 and dev3 and it worked pretty well, hope you try it out if you have not tried it out yet

I was able to figure out how to do your instructions!

I executed the fetch and delete on the non-duplicate patient that was stuck on the service queue for 1,050 hours, and was able to “remove” it from the service queues.

I executed the fetch and delete status “waiting” on the 6 patients that have duplicates, but it did not remove the duplicates, or allow me to remove them from the service queues, or end their visit, etc.

The below are the network errors I am getting when trying to remove them from the service queue…
