And here is the amazing Lightning Talk from this year’s OMRS24 conference, where @larymak explains this work

Hi team,

I’ve been exploring the documentation (Wiki) and courses (Fundamentals and Dev Academy), but I couldn’t find clear instructions on how to install a downloaded language from Transifex into OpenMRS 3 (O3). The current language options in the default frontend seem limited.

Could someone point me to the repo or microfrontend responsible for managing language selection in O3? If this functionality doesn’t already exist, I’d be happy to work on implementing an API that could fetch and add new languages automatically.

Looking forward to guidance from someone with more experience on this topic.

For testing purposes, I manually edited the database by updating locale.allowed.list (global_property table) to include pt_BR, after adding some translated words for this locale on Transifex. However, the language still doesn’t appear in the interface.

@larymak While reading the documentation, especially this page, I noticed it’s unclear how to implement a recently completed language variation. For instance, I translated OpenMRS into pt_BR, but the translation isn’t accessible in O3. It seems like the pipeline to bring translations from Transifex hasn’t been executed. From what I understand, this would be the responsibility of the Translation Manager, but I’m not sure who that is.
