OpenMRS Development and Implementation Coach

We are looking for an experienced OpenMRS Coach to lead a targeted 8-hour remote training session that will guide the adaptation and implementation of the OpenMRS system at Santa Clotilde hospital.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A seasoned professional who can provide a crash course on maximizing the use of the OpenMRS framework via remote delivery.
  • Someone with hands-on experience in customizing and developing modules in OpenMRS.
  • A passionate advocate for healthcare technology and open-source development who is also skilled in instructional delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct an 8-hour training session tailored to our specific needs, focusing on practical skills and system customization, all delivered remotely.
  • Provide insights and strategies for effective use of OpenMRS in a remote healthcare setting.
  • Act as a development expert, assisting our team by resolving specific technical inquiries that may arise in the development.

  • Proven expertise in OpenMRS, including system customization and module development.
  • A strong passion for healthcare technology and the advancement of open-source projects.
  • Excellent teaching skills with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable way.

About the Project:

  • This project aims to implement a Hospital Information System (HIS) for Santa Clotilde Hospital (HSC) in the remote Amazon region of Napo, Peru. The HSC serves over 30,000 people across 112 indigenous communities with limited access to healthcare and resources.

  • Due to its remote location, Santa Clotilde faces severe infrastructure and communication limitations, which will be key considerations in the adaptation of OpenMRS. The system developed will be progressively integrated with regional health networks, ensuring sustainability and scalability for future healthcare improvements.
