OpenMRS AWS AMIs

Hello everyone

We have recently published a set of Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) of OpenMRS on the AWS Marketplace. These AMIs allow to easily spin an OpenMRS server on EC2 instance (with the database also hosted on the EC2 instance).

We also have a version released on Hardened Ubuntu 22.04 system compliant with the the CIS benchmark, which gives better security to the deployment.

These are the 3 OpenMRS AMIs we released to the AWS Marketplace:

At this point we would greatly appreciate for anyone to try out these AMIs (they have free trial enabled) and share your feedback with us. We are looking for suggestions on what we could add to these images in order to deliver value to the community.

We are happy to work with anyone willing to give us feedback to offer high level discounts.

Thanks, Paweł

Great to hear. Are you including a concept dictionary and is it CIEL-compliant?

Hello Andrew

Apologies for the late reply, I somehow missed your post.

We are currently including what is by default bundled in OpenMRS. I believe this is a good idea to preconfigure the AMI with this dictionary, our developers will look into this.

Thanks, Paweł

Thanks. You can get the latest from OCL or via a dropbox link.

Hi everyone - quick update!

We’ve recently released new versions of our OpenMRS AMIs on the AWS Marketplace:

  • OpenMRS 3 AMI has been updated to version 3.4.0

  • OpenMRS 2.x AMI now runs Reference Application 2.13.0 (based on Platform 2.5.9), and we’ve also fixed the issue with demo data loading

They’re easy to try out (with free trials enabled), and we’d love your feedback on how to make them even more useful for implementers.

We also continue to offer a version of OpenMRS 2.x on CIS-hardened Ubuntu 22.04 for more security-conscious deployments.

Links and original details are in the top post of this thread. Feel free to reach out if you have questions, run into issues, or want to collaborate!

Thanks again, Jakub
