We are proud to announce our second Annual Report which demonstrates the commitment and passion of the OpenMRS community. A small group of community members have spent the past two months developing this report and we are excited to share it with you.
To quote Paul Biondich, “I’m proud to say that we’ve not only meaningfully grown as a community over the past year, we’ve become more efficient as well. As perhaps a simple example of this, the velocity of community growth has increased from 639 new members in 2015 to 1,126 new members in 2016.“
This report demonstrates the embodiment of our slogan: “write code. save lives.” The number of implementing sites using OpenMRS around the world increased from 1,149 in 2015 to 1,845 in 2016. The lives your contributions have reached grew from 5.1 million in 2015 active patients to 6.3 million in 2016.
Together we have accomplished incredible things through teamwork and collaboration. We are so thankful for our community members and the support of our partnering organizations who provide valuable resources toward our mission.
This is the second of many annual reports to come and will continue to be our indicator of growth and measure for how well we’ve achieved our goals. We hope you’ll continue to be involved in the great work that this report highlights, and that others of you will join us in preparing future reports when the time comes.
