Hey students!

OpenMRS has officially been accepted as a mentoring organization for Google Summer of Code 2025! :tada:

We’ve just published our GSoC 2025 intro video on YouTube. If you’re new to OpenMRS or wondering how to get started with your GSoC application, this should help answer a lot of your questions. @beryl and I cover everything from joining the community to submitting your proposal. Feel free to share it with anyone who might be interested in applying this year!

If you have any questions after watching, drop them in the youtube comments! We’ll be checking regularly. And if you see questions from other applicants that you can answer, feel free to jump in—it’s a great way to show your community engagement.

Remember, being an active community member is just as important as your technical skills for GSoC!

Hey @jayasanka and @beryl, I noticed that, according to the GSoC timeline, we’ve just entered the application period. I was wondering if there are any plans to guide those interested this year—like how we had a general call last year to help with application proposals. Would love to hear any updates on this!
