New OpenMRS website is almost ready!

Great idea @insookwa. We have to think about that!

A little update from yesterday’s OpenMRS Strategy and Operation meeting.

  1. We can’t move the website during weekend @cintiadr
  2. We have to build a Product page and EMR page to meet our MVP requirements (@grace and @jennifer are working on the content, while I’m designing it)
  3. On the next website design meeting (Wednesday) we discuss if pages are ready to go alive
  4. If yes, we will one more time show the results of our work at OpenMRS Strategy meeting
  5. If everything goes well, we will publish it the next weekend

Review the website https://beta.openmrs.org/, find if everything works and share with us your thoughts and opinion about that - Website Feedback - Google Sheets

Thanks,

That’s awesome, @zuzanna , thanks for the detailed update.

So let’s aim for the 14th-15th weekend. I will confirm here before anything else

I’m happy to inform that we’re ready to make a big step forward and publish our new website. For the last week, we worked very hard with @grace and @jennifer to accomplish the Product Page. It’s done, but not perfect. We need to work more on consistency and that will be our goal for the next weeks.

We’ll prepare a separate post on Talk about soft launch and our plans for the future - next pages, goals, steps, etc.

Thank you, @jennifer, for you care, patience and trust. We couldn’t achieve that without you, your help, knowledge and experience. You’re a great Leader, and it was a pleasure to work with you. Looking forward to the next steps in our big project.

Thank you, @grace, for your skills (I didn’t know that Google Slides can be so helpful ), your taste of design, knowledge and that you know what you want, and what is more important you can achieve it. Your ideas make the website better, and I hope you’ll share with us your future’s great concepts.

And thank you, everybody who helped us make this website alive. Thank you community, thank you, @cintiadr, @burhan99, @jslawinski. Now we need to create “only” the rest of the pages :relieved:

@cintiadr does our migration is up to date?

Thank you Zuzanna for these very kind words, and for all your help keeping our website redesign momentum moving forwards. It’s great seeing how proficient you are with editing the template too - maybe we should do a short video recording where you can explain to future editors how best to use Elementor to maintain the website too?

Yes, sure! That’s an excellent idea.

@zuzanna new website is available in https://openmrs.org/  Old website is hosted in https://site-legacy.openmrs.org/

I don’t think we moved users from old to new website, so I cannot login to admin in the new website.

I didn’t use backup/restore, but rather a quick-and-dirty replace. When we remove the legacy website, I will need to do a refactoring and clean up, but let’s get the website redesign done first

(All work documented in https://issues.openmrs.org/browse/ITSM-4302)

OMG, thank you @cintiadr. This is the best news ever <3

I’ve looked at the website and accounts are copied, so you should be able to log in. I can send you a link to change your password if you want. Your nickname and password should be the same as on the old page.

One more time, thank you very much! I can’t believe that the website is alive

@zuzanna it looks like neither the Demo nor the Download page is working. (I think this is pretty urgent since we know 1 in 3 users click on Demo or Download)

I have been trying to login to the openmrs.org Wordpress to update the Demo or Download link, but like Cintia mentioned above, it seems like our user accounts didn’t get migrated. So I am not able to log in. Are you able to log in to make changes?

All that needs to be done is to update the following links:

There was some issue with Elementor and in the code, but with @cintiadr we’ve solved the problem and everything is working now. Probably you need to change your password if the old one doesn’t work.

Yeaa, I need to check links and find out if everything is working well. Thanks @grace

I’ve corrected all links and checked the buttons, so everything should be fine.

Thanks @zuzanna, yeah resetting my pwd worked

The demo links on the Product page needed to be updated too; I’ve fixed those. Two of the images on the Product page also seemed to be missing the correct highlighting/background; not sure why because it looks like you uploaded the right asset file :woman_shrugging: I tried again and now they look right.

thanks @grace

Will you be on a Wednesday meeting?

@zuzanna where do i find this page for editing? Download OpenMRS | OpenMRS

I just want to update it with the latest reference application that @herbert24 is releasing.

We haven’t done it yet on the new website. You should be able to log in on site-legacy using your (old) password and nick. I don’t have the access to the site-legacy, so I can’t do it.

@zuzanna at first, i did not see the pages. After posting here, i logged in again and saw them. But editing the Downloads page takes me to this https://openmrs.org/download instead of this https://site-legacy.openmrs.org/download. Am i missing something?

FWIW, am using Log In ‹ OpenMRS.org — WordPress

No, that’s okay. That’s my fault. Now you should be able to change what you want in the right domain. Just log into the openmrs.org website, go to pages, find “download” and edit in elementor OR click on the download button and then if you are logged in you should see in the top bar “edit in elementor” option.

If you need my help @dkayiwa let me know

I just logged into the openmrs.org website but i do not see pages

I’ve changed your role from subscriber to administrator. maybe this time will work?

Is pages a button, link, drop down menu item, or something else? When i got to https://openmrs.org, i do not see anything called pages. I only see Pages on the left hand side bar when i use this openmrs.org/wp-admin and this takes me to a download page of https://openmrs.org/download

yeah, and that’s okay. Do you need to call me, so I could explain you this? pages is a side bar menu and look like this image
