I’ve heard some ideas in recent weeks about ways to make our fellowship program better. What do you think?

Get organizations with active OpenMRS implementations involved in the Fellowship Program. We’ve heard that orgs might be interested in providing mentorship, have staff members who want to become a fellow, or be interested in having a fellow work with them through a project or “rotation.” Looking to GSoC for guidance, this might mean having orgs submit an application/attestation, defining orgs roles & responsibilities (similar to the Program Rules we have for Fellows & Mentors), etc. What else should we consider?

Brainstorm and/or identify fellowship capstone projects early on. This can help engage organizations who might want to work with a fellow on a project that aligns with their priorities. It can also help fellows craft a fellowship plan that will help them complete the project.

Provide more support early on when it comes to creating fellowship plans.
