Looking for implementations interested in enhancing their reporting capabilities

Dear Community,

I’m Artur, a Project Manager at SolDevelo. We recently launched a new offering focused on optimizing reporting capabilities for countries and implementations using digital tools to enhance operational efficiency - check here

Right now, we are in the validation stage, working to refine this offering and determine the best approach to addressing reporting and data visibility challenges across different digital tools.

Thus, I’m offering to integrate an interested implementation (one) with one of the reporting tools we are working with, build three reports (with a direct connection to the database), and arrange access for you.

How will it look?

  1. Kick-off meeting – We will identify the most crucial KPIs to be presented on the dashboards (we can propose reports based on these KPIs).
  2. Data sources and integration points – We will define data sources and integration points (database access is needed).
  3. AWS instance setup – We will set up an AWS instance to deploy the reporting tool.
  4. Tool deployment and database connection – We will deploy the tool and connect it to the database (direct integration at this stage).
  5. Dashboard development – We will build three agreed-upon dashboards.

If you allow us, we can set up the instance directly on our AWS account, so you can have full access to it afterward. If not, we will host it on SolDevelo’s infrastructure, but after one month, it will be turned off unless transferred to your account.

The entire process should take a maximum of two weeks. After this period, you will have access to three dashboards on a separate instance—a great starting point for building your reporting capabilities. Once completed, we can explore other options, such as embedded reports or a dedicated reporting module for your OpenMRS implementation (which can be contributed to the core solution).

If this sounds interesting to you, please leave your contact details or drop me an e-mail - alebiedzinski@soldevelo.com

Thanks!

@grace @burke @mseaton @mksd if you are aware of any missing reporting capabilities in OpenMRS that can benefit of this initiative, please do not hesitate to contact Artur.

Thank you in advance!

Thanks again for offering to help there @jslawinski and @alebiedzinski

We haven’t had a chance to tackle this yet, but the plan is indeed for Ozone Analytics to power the OpenMRS Distro HIS. Specifically, this means ensuring Ozone Analytics is deployed and available in the same environment as the Distro HIS.

In a nutshell, :ozone: Ozone Analytics orchestrates Flink jobs that stream data from OpenMRS (among other possible sources) into a data lake, making it easily accessible via BI tools. For demo purposes, Ozone currently provides Superset as its default BI app.

There are many pending tasks that we’d like to explore with Ozone Analytics and that would be useful the broader community. Would your team be interested in stepping in and helping us drive some of this forward?

If you’re looking to enhance reporting capabilities, there are various implementation options depending on your platform. Consider using business intelligence tools, custom dashboards, or automation for data aggregation.

Dear Dimitri and Bruce,

Thanks for your response! It’s great to see progress with the reporting provided by Ozone and the willingness to integrate it with the OpenMRS Distro. I hope this will enhance OpenMRS’s reporting capabilities.

However, what I’m looking for is something different. I’m seeking an implementation currently using OpenMRS that either lacks reporting capabilities or is not satisfied with its existing reporting stack. My goal is to enhance reporting for them and test our offering: Report Optimization Services. Essentially, I’m looking to build a separate reporting solution—not through Ozone, but an independent one.
