Let's find a better TAC Call time

Our current TAC (Technical Action Committee) meets on Fridays at 2pm UTC / 10am EDT / 7am PDT / 5pm EAT / 4pm CET / 7:30pm IST.

Problem: This time is basically untenable for colleagues outside of North American timezones. We’d like to try and make a change so that more people from more regions & organizations are able to attend.

Let us know: What time would work for you?

  • Mondays at 2pm UTC / 10am EDT / 7am PDT / 5pm EAT / 4pm CET / 7:30pm IST
  • Mondays at 3pm UTC / 11am EDT / 8am PDT / 6pm EAT / 5pm CET / 8:30pm IST
  • Thursdays at 1pm UTC / 9am EDT / 6am PDT / 4pm EAT / 3pm CET / 6:30pm IST
  • Keep it on Fridays at 2pm UTC / 10am EDT / 7am PDT / 5pm EAT / 4pm CET / 7:30pm IST
  • None of these work for me - I’ll propose an option below

Thanks for posting this, @grace!

I’m assuming we’ll keep this call anchored to UTC, so the time would be an hour earlier for those who stop observing daylight savings time for half the year – e.g., 10am EDT / 7am PDT would be 9am EST / 6am PST from Nov - Mar.

FYI – while I could make multiple options work with my calendar, I could only select one option, so this poll might be biased towards the first option. For future polls like this, it might be worth trying the multiple selection option.

@grace thanks for the primarily results. For the sake of the majority vote, I can afford to adjust to Monday at 2pm UTC.

Thanks to everyone who voted.

The winning time by far was * Mondays at 2pm UTC / 10am EDT / 7am PDT / 5pm EAT / 4pm CET / 7:30pm IST. We had our last Friday-based TAC call today; we will resume TAC calls on Monday June 7 at this new time.
