Inquiry About GSoC Project: Improved Appointments Calendar View

Hello everyone,

I’m Jameela, a fresh graduate from faculty of Computer Science and Information technology. I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to OpenMRS through Google Summer of Code (GSoC) and am particularly interested in the project Improved Appointments Calendar View.

After going through the project details, I have a solid understanding of the core concepts but would love to explore the current implementation of the project in more depth.

Could you share more insights into the project’s requirements and any relevant resources? I want to gain a clearer picture of its scope and challenges. Additionally, any guidance or advice on how to get started and contribute effectively would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to your feedback and the opportunity to collaborate!

Best regards, Jameela

@jayasanka I would like to know who the mentor for this idea is, if you have that information.

Hello everyone I’m interested in working on the same, Improved Appointments Calendar View. Since the mentors for this idea are currently listed as TBA, I wanted to ask whom I should connect with regarding this proposal. I have created a small demo implementation that includes:

  • a modal for appointment details

  • drill-down functionality in the calendar view

I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me on: Who would be the best person to review or discuss this idea with, and

  1. Whether it would be appropriate for me to share the demo and ask a few questions here.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This is Modal implementation. I have added create new appointment inside modal as well for UI consistency.

For drill down to daily, weekly calendar UI and UX, I took inspiration from Google Calendar.
