Can you describe the use case in some more detail? Why do you want the default value to be hidden?

I have obsgroup that monitors symptoms from day0 to day7. so, I want the day0 to day7 to be shown as 1 to 7 but behind the scene, there will be a hidden obs with a default value for each of these days while other fields in the obs group will dynamically be populated
