I’m slightly confused on how to pick Jira tickets. I was wondering if anyone could help
Hey! Don’t worry, picking those first few tickets is honestly the most confusing part for everyone when they first join OpenMRS.
as a 3rd year student at VIT and I was in the exact same spot a few weeks ago. A good trick is to go to Jira and specifically search for the intro or good-first-issue labels. Those are usually smaller tasks that the mentors have already vetted for new contributors so you don’t get overwhelmed by the huge codebase right away.
Just make sure the ticket status says Ready for Work and that no one else is assigned to it yet. Once you find one that looks interesting, just drop a comment on the ticket asking to be assigned.
