What is a difference between tester and subject matter expert because intended information page for tester is misleading and for subject matter expert out-dated. Can’t they be categorized as volunteers or contributors and then “tester” “subject matter experts” sub-categories. What’s the difference between them if any?

A Tester can be an expert in the subject matter of Testing. Any subject matter expert can be a volunteer and is a contributor. What do you find misleading on the tester information page? What is out dated for subject matter experts?
