Hi OpenMRS Community!

My name is Skand Chaubey, a Computer Science student from MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), Pune, India.

I am applying for Google Summer of Code 2026 and I am very interested in the “Extend Audit Log Module (Read Auditing)” project.

My Technical Background:

  • Core Java - OOP, Collections, JDBC, Multithreading, Exception Handling, Design Patterns
    • MySQL and relational databases
      • Maven build tool

          • Basic Python
        • Questions for Mentors @Manoj @Manojathnapriya and @Wikum Weerakutti:
        1. Is the “Extend Audit Log Module” project confirmed for GSoC 2026?
          1. Which specific classes or modules in the codebase should I study first to understand the current audit implementation?
            1. Is there a preferred technical approach for implementing read interception - Spring AOP or Hibernate interceptors?
              1. Are there any existing intro/good-first issues related to the audit module I can pick up?
            3. I have already cloned openmrs-core and am exploring the codebase. I am committed to contributing beyond GSoC as well.
