GSoC 2025 – Interest in "Improved Audit Logging" Project

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

I’m Meghna Sharma, a Computer Engineering graduate student at NYU (Class of 2026), and I’m super excited about contributing to OpenMRS through Google Summer of Code 2025.

After reviewing the project ideas, the “Improved Audit Logging” project really stood out to me. I have experience in:

  • Java and Spring Boot
  • SQL and relational database design
  • Big Data tools like Hive and Hadoop
  • REST API development

I’m confident this project aligns with my strengths, and I’d love to learn how to get started — whether it’s reviewing the codebase, fixing beginner issues, or understanding the current audit module.

Could mentors @Wikum Weerakutti and @Manoj Rathnapriya or anyone from the community guide me on:

  1. Where the current audit logging code/module lives
  2. How I can make my first contribution
