Hi everyone!
I’m Ishan Sawai, a 2nd-year student at National Institute of Technology Agartala and a web development enthusiast. I’ve gone through the Interactive Builder for Form Translations within the Form Builder project in detail, and I’m super excited to contribute to this project and become a part of the OpenMRS community!
Currently, adding translations to a form involves placing them in a configuration folder for Iniz, which has several challenges:
- It requires a developer’s help to figure out where and how to add translations.
- The JSON format is quite different from the form structure, making it tricky for non-technical users.
- There’s no simple, interactive way to manage translations.
To improve this, I’d love to work on building a UI that enables users to add and manage translations for forms dynamically.
Could @Nethmi or anyone from the community guide me on:
Where the current translation system is implemented
How I can start contributing to OpenMRS
I’ve also created a GitHub repository for this initiative so that we can start organizing ideas and contributions: form-translation-ui.
I’m really looking forward to working on this, and this summer is going to be amazing!
Thanks! —Ishan
