Hi, my name is Toby. I live in Washington DC. I found out about Google Code-in when a mentor from copyleft games came to my school. I program robots at school (FRC), I’ve done some data visualization of ambulance response times recently as part of a project I’m working on with a friend to see how feasible it would be to link drones into the 911 service to deliver things like epi-pens, adrenaline, and other things to people in need so long ambulance response times don’t claim as many lives.

Hello!

I’m Danny from Australia, and I’ve been doing Google Code In for a few years (I was one of the 2012 winners actually). OpenMRS sounds like an interesting web application project, and I’ve been wanting to get my feet wet with Java.

I’m more familiar with JS / Node, HTML / CSS, etc. Looking forward to contributing!

@cshah: Wow! Say hi to Liezl for me?

Hi! I’m Steph, 15. This is my first year joining GCI

I’ll be focusing on UI and maybe some Android apps. Am somewhat confused about the coding parts… Also, what’s the average amount of tasks we should do? Is 10 a reasonable number?

Hi everyone! My name is Selina, and I am a high school student from California. This is my first year participating in GCI, but I love it already. I can write code in Python and some Java, and I was so excited when I first saw the ever-changing list of tasks to claim and work on. I look forward to being an active participant in GCI and exploring the world of OpenMRS!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Harsha Siriwardena, i mostly use harshadura as my cyber identity  My country is a beautiful south asian island called Sri Lanka. I work as a full time Software Engineer specialising enterprise mobile technologies. I also pursue a Masters in a part time basis.

And I have been contributing to OpenMRS project since 2012 where i also participated for two consecutive GSoC programs with OpenMRS. It was been a nice journey, i like the motto very much. “write code & save lives!” as coders which is a really possible way, isnt it?!

This is my second year in GCI, where I have participated as a GCI mentor at Fedora project in 2012.

Hi! I’m Zoe, 17 from Malaysia. This is my first time participating in Google Code In. Unfortunately in my school the computer classes only go up to Form 2 which is equivalent to grade 8 and after that we have no computer science or classes at all in government schools. I hope that GCI and Open MRS will broaden my grasp on technology and information as well as making a difference in the world.
